Cardiff Confirm Campbell Interest

After reports earlier today linked Sunderland striker Fraizer Campbell with a move to Championship high-flyers Cardiff City, Bluebirds (are we still calling them that?) boss Malky Mackay has confirmed they do have an interest in the striker.

Earlier in the week defender Matt Kilgallon sent out a post on Instagram which wished Campbell luck at Cardiff -- suggesting that a deal is closer to completion than any of us first imagined, and now Mackay has told reported in South Wales that he does have a buying interest in the former England international;

We are interested in the player. We are in discussion with Sunderland. They have put a price on the player and it is something we have to discuss with the club.

The rumoured fee according to several local journalists on Twitter is in the region of £600k. A small sum, but a fair one given his impact at the club and the fact he's out of contract at the end of the season.

Continuing with Martin O'Neill's insistence of one in, one out (and we mean from the club, not Wales) it might suggest that a move for Danny Graham is getting closer.
