VIDEO: David Meyler's Irish Squad Initiation Song David Meyler provided his new Irish teammates with a rendition of the Uncle Kracker hit "Follow Me" as he took part in his first away trip with the Irish squad ahead of their game against Kazakhstan on Friday. The Uncle Kracker song seems to be a favourite among the Sunderland contingent after John Egan (we think) sung the same tune to his teammates at a similar initiation ceremony on the trip to Korea this summer. More recently on the trip to Swansea, Adam Johnson, Steven Fletcher and Danny Rose all found the time to sing their little hearts out wit renditions of Wonderwall (Johnson), 500 Miles (Fletcher) and the National Anthem (Rose).
VIDEO: Ex-SAFC Midfielder Kevin Kilbane Rapping "Ice Ice Baby" To Irish Fans At Euro 2012. Stop, collaborate and listen, Killa's back with a brand new edition! Dunno quite what it is in the water in Sunderland, but it seems hot on the footsteps of Sean Thornton comes Kevin Kilbane with his own version of Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby". The video, taken in Gdansk where Kilbane is doing media work really is something to behold. I wonder if we can set-up a battle between him and Thornton...
VIDEO: Craig Gordon's wondersave (which you can see here) against Bolton Wanderers has been nominated by the Premier League as one of the greatest in the 20 years of the league. There's many other good contenders, but I think we ought to make sure Sunderland win something this year. The winners themselves will be announced on May 15th. Ahmed Elmohamady made an impressive contribution to Egypt's last minute winning goal against Nigeria in an international friendly played today. Check out the run from Elmo (No.3) as he cuts inside, beats a few players and plays a lovely 1-2. Credit to @EgyFt on Twitter for the video. Follow him for more Egyptian football updates.
"He's Fast, He's Keen, He's Speedy James McClean"... This song will stick in your minds for ages as it has my own. David Boyle stumbled upon this and put it on our Facebook page, and I implore you to watch it. It certainly deserves a wider audience, and could easily be a chant, if it's not already, can't say I've heard it if it is. "Speedy James McClean" by "TheMackemFolkSinger" absolutely superb stuff. Well done him.
