Welcome to another edition of Roker Riches, which for the first time in what feels like an age sees the lads sitting top of the league with 3 points ahead of second. Soak it up, it feels good.
This weekend, the lads head for the south coast in their quest to keep their winning run going, taking on Portsmouth away from home.
The two sides have had quite different starts to the season, with a ten point difference and 12 league places already separating them, which may influence bets, who knows. There is always a bit of needle when we play them for some reason (ahem, penalty shoot out, or maybe the odd over-physical fan…), so no doubt there will be a bit of that with fans back in stadia, where they belong.

Hopefully the fantastic performances and clean sheets can carry on for the lads while on the road, which they are to be for a lot of this month to come. Even a draw will keep us top…but we don’t want to start that habit again though, do we?
The Roker Riches table...
Only one winner claimed last weekend, with Danny bringing in over £50 with his league trio. The rest of the lads were all fleeced by the bookies, but live to bet another day this weekend.

No major changes in the pecking order, but Danny is closing in on Malc, and pulling away from mid table.
Banker’s Bonus...
The Lads brought home the bankers bonus last weekend with a narrow but hard earned 1-0 and 3 points against Bolton.
That gives our punters in the RR team an extra twenty quid for their bets this time around!

The next bankers bonus will be offered next time around. Hopefully the Riches lads will reap big rewards with the extra investment they have been offered.
This round’s bets...
Anthony Gair says...
Weekend ACCA
The league is starting to iron itself out, so I’m confident in this choice to bag us some good coin. Wigan, Charlton, Ipswich and Bolton to win. £30 returns £617.70 (including bonus cash)

Sunderland to batter Pompey
To have Sunderland -1 sounds mental, but that’s what I’m going for as we’re free scoring and absolutely class. £10 returns £47.50
Luke ‘Bomber’ Davies says...
Something for the weekend
Taking a different approach to my non SAFC bet this week and going with what I feel are the two best bets of Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is a little more conservative, but that’s with the hope that we are carrying through to Sunday with the Acca still alive!
Chelsea, Wigan, Real Madrid And Leicester. £5 returns £45.60
Sunderland Bet Builder Banker’s Bonus Boost!
I’m using the generous bankers bonus to bump up a fairly conservative SAFC Bet Builder this week to try and take advantage of his generosity.
For the first time in forever I’m seeing us go into every game and genuinely expecting a win. It’ll be tight, the bet reflects that… but betting with the bankers cash we can hope for a nice return;
- Over 2.5 goals; - BTTS - yes; - Double Chance - Sunderland or Draw
£25 returns £84.43
Phil Butler says...
Half Time/Full Time - Sunderland/Sunderland and Over 2.5 goals in the match.
I fancy another win for Lee Johnson’s side, and now the goals have started to flow they should continue. £5 returns £35.

Spanish Treble the three Reals: Sociedad, Betis and Madrid all to win across Saturday afternoon. £5 returns £69.30.
Bankers Bonus
Genoa to beat Salernitana to get my weekend off to a winning start. £20 returns £50.
Paul Fletcher says…
Sunderland to win 3-1:
Something really clicked on Tuesday night and we saw confidence running through the whole team. I’m expecting this confidence to be carried into tomorrow’s game, plenty of chances to be created and goals to be scored. £5 returns £105
Saturday Fourfold:
I’m going for one pick from each of the top four English leagues and hoping I can finally hit four out of four. Your teams to avoid this week are Chelsea, Bournemouth, Bolton and Exeter. £5 returns £46.06
Banker’s Bonus - Sensible Sunday Sixfold:
For this bet, I’ve scoured the whole of Europe looking for teams that should all be a safe bet to win their home matches. Bayern Munich, Roma, Ajax, Salzburg, Fenerbahce and Basel are the teams I’m relying on to turn my £20 into £103.02
Danny Roberts says...
Sunderland to win 2-1. It didn’t come off last week, but this week is the week! £5 returns £50
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22891450/1315665297.jpg)
English Trio:
I had another good win last week with a trio, so why change something that works! I’ll go for Burnley to beat Norwich, MK Dons to ease past Doncaster and Wycombe to pick up all three points against Morcambe. £30 returns £186.33 (including bankers bonus)
Malc Dugdale says...
Premier League Quad
Man Utd, Leeds, Chelsea and Wolves all to win this weekend. None of these are bankers, but I haven’t done well with relying on those of late, so why not.
£25 on this, including my bankers bonus returns a lovely £139.50.
Sunderland to win and over 2.5 goals
If the lads play like they did away at Wigan and with even better finishing that at home versus Cheltenham (we could have scored 8-9 and not been flattered), this will not be a dull affair. I’m backing the lads to win and there be at least 3 goals in it, as even Pompey have been scoring but no necessarily getting points from that.
Tenner bet returns £40.
Michael Dunne says...
Portsmouth 0-2 Sunderland
I am expecting a Sunderland win this weekend. On paper, this should be a difficult game but Portsmouth are struggling a little this season. I am sure their fans expect them to be further up the table than they are . With Lee Johnson’s men’s confidence sky high, I see a solid 2-0 away win on the cards. £5 returns £60 @11/1

Away Double
Going for an away double here in the championship. Nottingham Forest have redeemed themselves somewhat since the sacking of Chris Hughton. They are up against an inconsistent Birmingham City team and I can see them winning at St Andrews. Middlesbrough are up against a struggling Hull City. This is a derby (of sorts) and I see Neil Warnocks team winning. £25 returns £232.75 @8/1 including bankers boost.
