Swedish gaffer to meet Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus over vacant Head Coach position

Sunderland’s owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is set to meet with Swedish coach Kim Hellberg tomorrow to discuss the club’s vacant Head Coach position.

Swedish manager Kim Hellberg is set to meet with Sunderland tomorrow over the vacant Head Coach role, vacated earlier in the week by Tony Mowbray.

Fotbollskanalen say the IFK Varnamo manager, who is set to become a free agent, will meet with the Sunderland board on Thursday.

Hellberg steered Varnamo to 5th place in the Allsvenskan in 2023 and has been in demand, with IFK Norrkoping, where he was previously assistant manager, and Hammarby said to be interested in his services.

The 35-year-old has so far not left Sweden during his playing or coaching career but could be set to change that with a move to the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland can’t afford to follow a flawed process in their search for a new head coach
