It’s a huge weekend for women’s domestic football - with both the BBC and Sky Sports covering the opening weekend of the WSL live on the telly for the first time. But there’s only one way to watch our very own Sunderland AFC Ladies play live this season and that’s by getting down to the ground and cheering on the Lasses yourself!
Here are the Roker Report predictions ahead of tomorrow’s match at the Stadium of Light...
Graeme Field says... 2-1 win for the Lasses
It’s going to be fantastic to watch the lasses at home once again. Two sides that had excellent starts to the season with their opening day wins. I can’t wait to get to the Stadium of Light for the game.
They’ll be full of confidence and have their game plan ready to go. I predicted Sunderland would get a draw last week and they came away with three points.
If Keira Ramshaw recovers from her injury, I think that Mel Reay will stick with the side that started the match last week.
With that in mind, I’m going to go for a Sunderland win. I think it will be another close game, with the lasses edging it 2-1. Kelly and Ramshaw with the goals.
Katie Hume says... 2-1 win for the Lasses
It’ll be another close game but I think Sunderland will get a 2-1 win.

Sean Brown says… 4-0 win for the Lasses
Looking at Blackburn last season and they’re all over the shop. I’m thinking the SOL will help us dominate and I want a clean sheet for Clauds so... A brace for Neve, with a goal apiece for Jess and Maria.
Ant Waterson says... 3-1 win for the Lasses
I think Sunderland will win at the Stadium of Light on Sunday. Hopefully, both teams enjoy the atmosphere. I’ll say the game will finish 3-1 with Neve Herron, Maria Farrugia, and Keira Ramshaw scoring.

Rich Speight says... 3-2 win for the Lasses
I can see both teams responding to the crowd at the Stadium of Light on Sunday. Blackburn know this division inside out, they’ve plenty of experience on the bench and on the pitch.
Nevertheless, Sunderland played so well last week - especially that second half - that I’ve got to go for the win, but I think another clean sheet might be a stretch. I’m backing Maria Farrugia to score, along with Keira Ramshaw who very looked dangerous last weekend, and another from Jess Brown.
