Dear Roker Report,
I’m so frustrated by Bailey Wright giving that penalty away. I know all players are human and make mistakes, but that was plain stupid and those 2 points could prove to be pivotal.
What else do you say??
I want to see Alves do well on Tuesday. We need a new CB to emerge who can perform to an acceptable level, and be trusted to not give daft penalties away in the last minute of games that costs us important points.
South Stander
Ed’s Note [Rich]: Bailey Wright will know he’s made crucial mistakes on Saturday, South Stander, he’s a seasoned pro and I’m sure there’ll be a good amount of work going on behind the scenes to put right some of the errors. You could equally argue that a point away from home when we’re winning at the Stadium of Light is title-winning form. But I have to agree with you, Fred Alves hasn’t been brought here to sit on the bench as fourth choice, and although Tom Flanagan will be a shoe-in for a return in the Bolton match next weekend, Tuesday gives the young Dane the opportunity to stake his claim too.

Dear Roker Report,
I’m only here to say that Ross Stewart is absolutely brilliant. Big thumbs up to the recruitment team for identifying him because having seen him play all season I’m shocked that one of the Scottish big boys didn’t get there before us. How did he end up playing for Ross County? Crazy but I’m over the moon he came here regardless.
Tom Bruce
Ed’s Note [Rich]: I have to wholeheartedly agree, Tom. The Irn-Bruhimovic, Jurgen Clannsman, The Loch Ness Drogba... whatever your preference, this lad is an absolute revalation. He keeps getting better and better, and I can see him going a long way in the game - hopefully with Sunderland.

Dear Roker Report,
I noticed that SAFC women don’t have an up-to-date Wiki page.
I know it’s important to the success of Sunderland as a modern club to create and maintain this page. Do you know if the club has a social media editor who could do it, or would it be a fan responsibility?
Des Johnston
Ed’s Note [Rich]: Hi Des, thanks for raising this important matter. I’ve mentioned it in today’s opinion piece as a key missing element in the club’s communication about the Lasses and as an important resource for keeping both SAFC fans and those from the wider media informed about what’s happening at the club.
The club do employ social media and website writers, and at the minute they’re yet to add even player profiles to the website. I understand that they’re currently reviewing their overall output, and I hope this will be part of the improvement. In the meantime, we as digital citizens are free to edit and update the wiki pages - it is meant to be an open source and user-generated resource after all.
