Welcome to another installment of Roker Riches – let’s find out how our pool of punters think the lads will do this afternoon, and what other coinage they are investing with the bookies this weekend.
The Rolling Table: Season 2020-2021
Yellow card update...
This week we have two players with a red. Matthew C and Danny both missed commitments across the past two weeks, hence they suffer a £20 hit.

In respect of bet wins last week, the only victory was for the Riches Readers who predicted a draw versus Lincoln, picking them up a tidy £35 including stake. Not a great deal of change to the table, but a welcome boost to a flagging kitty.
Banker’s Bonus...
The punters gained no bonus this week as Charlie Wyke and Sunderland failed to continue with their winning run.
This week a bonus will be awarded for one of the Easter weekend fixtures if Sunderland get any sort of win away at Bristol, to stick two fingers up at our favourite ex-Geordie muppet.
This Week’s Bets:
Matty Crichton says...
Aiden McGeady to score first and Sunderland to win: Our Irish talisman is due a goal and I wouldn’t be surprised to see our old comrade Jack Baldwin give away a penalty! £5 returns £45.00
EFL Treble: Given that internationals provide awful odds I’m sticking with our League One rivals. Posh should bounce back against Accrington, on-form Blackpool should defeat Plymouth, plus I can see a draw playing out between Wimbledon and Northampton. £5 returns £48.36.

Luke ‘Bomber’ Davies says...
Sunderland to win 3-0 :Sunderland, after a full week of rest, recovery and preparation, will be desperate for a positive reaction and should hope to make a statement against the woefully patchy form of Bristol Rovers. Joey Barton will make it all about him... but our ex-Bristol City gaffer will have the last laugh. £5 returns £65 with Skybet.
International Goals Treble : International matches are proving more and more competitive and harder to predict how hard an evening the bigger nations will have against the smaller nations. Even so, value is hard to find. Regardless of how difficult a game they may have, I’d still back some of the bigger teams to score twice in their respective matches... which does offer a little bit of value for a treble. Teams to score 2 or more; Belgium (Saturday), Portugal (Saturday), England (Sunday). £5 returns £22.07 with SkyBet

Phil Butler says...
Sunderland to win -2.0 (2 goal handicap). Despite this same bet being unsuccessful last time out, the data suggests we should be the biggest favourites in the EFL this weekend and the handicap makes a single bet worthwhile. £5 returns £35.
EFL Treble. Although it was actually quite nice to have a break in midweek given the amount of football we’ve played in recent weeks, it does make picking three teams for this week’s acca more difficult since I avoid international matches like the plague (if we can even use that saying anymore given the last year). I’m sticking with Leagues One and Two by backing Paul Cook’s Ipswich to beat his former club Wigan, Bradford to beat Colchester and Cheltenham to beat Morecambe. £5 returns £60.38.

Paul Fletcher says...
Sunderland to win 4-0: We’ve had a week to rest up after a hectic schedule, Lee Johnson will have been able to tweak a few things in training and I fancy us to go out today and absolutely batter Bristol Rovers. £5 returns £145
3 o’clock fourfold: In our game, I’m hoping for an away win but for my other bet, I’m banking on home wins for Blackpool, Tranmere, Chesterfield and Inverness CT. £5 returns £66.15

Malc Dugdale says...
Sunderland to win with BTTS - I hope we have enough to put that pleb Barton’s team to the sword, but with some players likely to return from the physio couch we may let one in. Fiver returns £22.50.
International triple - Russia, Belgium and Portugal all to start a win on Saturday. Not easy to find decent bets for internationals but this gives a decent 4.5-1, fiver returns £26.25.

Danny Roberts says...
Bristol 1 - Sunderland 5: Malc has called this as his score in our predictions table, and I agree, as he is the all seeing oracle at times. If it comes in it is welcome too, with 80-1 odds returning £405.
England to win 4-0 against Albania on Sunday: Surely the three lions can run rampant this weekend? The bookies clearly think so as this score only gives me 12-1 odds, returning £65 for my fiver.

Riches Readers’ Random Pick...
Sunderland to win 2-0: This is one of the most regular scores for the lads when they have an important game and need the points without being too flash, so this coming up for the readers after a win last weekend makes sense in a way. Good odds too of 13-2, returning £75 for the readers tenner.
Good luck to Sunderland and to all our fellow punters this weekend, and let’s hope our rampant winning run drives us on towards promotion.
Please remember to gamble responsibly, and enjoy your weekend.
