Katie’s Player Ratings: Sunderland top of their Conti Cup group after win at Blackburn Rovers!!!

Sunderland overtook Liverpool in the League Cup standings with an impressive win away on a cold night in Lancashire. Katie was there to see it and here are her ratings...

Allison Cowling 8/10

She made some crucial saves at crucial times in the game, was very vocal and commanding throughout. Another really good performance.

Faye Mullin 8/10

Made some class runs down the wing before unfortunately having to come off with an injury early in the second half.

Louise Griffiths 8/10

A strong presence at the back, she got stuck in with tackles throughout before making way for Neve Herron late on.

Charlotte Potts 8/10

The level of performance we’ve come to expect from the experienced centre half. Class as always set pieces, strong as an ox. Fantastic.

Grace McCatty 8/10

Our unexpected goal-scoring machine right now. Just like Pottsy, she was solid as a rock at the back.

Libby McInnes 7/10

She had a relatively quiet game but did her job well, withdrawn towards the end for Keira Ramshaw.

Grace Ede 7/10

A good performance from the 16-year-old on her full debut for her hometown club, before being subbed in the second half. It’s exciting to see how she develops as a player over the season and this experience will be important.

Abbey Joice 9/10

Like watching prime Kante, absolutely all over the pitch. Would’ve scored 10 but made a mistake that lead to Blackburn's goal.

Emma Kelly 7/10

Had auite game on the wing, I prefer to see her in the middle of the park. Kelly made some good attacking runs and provided some nice through balls for the overlapping fullbacks.

Holly Manders 8/10

Solid performance, with some great tackles and popped up with a good finish for the goal to give Sunderland the win.

Eve Blakey 7/10

The youngster showed some promise with great hold-up play, definitely performed much better second half after a quiet first. Maybe she needs to make forward runs and get in the box a little more.

Subs:

Jess Brown 7/10

Did well playing in right back after replacing the injured Faye Mullin, made some great runs while overlapping Emma.

Emily Scarr 7/10

Came on alongside Captain Keys to bring experience to the pitch in the closing stages, and performed that role well.

Keira Ramshaw 7/10

Brought on to see out the game and did exactly that.

Neve Herron 7/10

Came on late on and kept the opposition at bay.
