Fan Letters: ‘Some of the sh*t written online about L09 is baffling,’ says RR reader Tom

Tom’s not happy about criticism of Luke O’Nien, while Anthony can’t believe another club’s about to take a chance on Jack Rodwell!

Dear Roker Report,

This club is now finally on the up, for so long we have been stuck in the stone age the way the club was being ran. The infrastructure is now in place for the club to move on to succeed for the first time in years. Kyril’s quiet demeanour and running of the club has been a breath of fresh air. For once we have not thrown money at our situation and finally using modern European recruitment systems to get the right players in and so far its working.

It’s been a pleasure to watch young players wanting to play for the club and enjoying the experience. The whole set up now is starting to reap the benefits of all the pre-season work done by Johnson and his backroom staff. Well done lads.

The recruitment of the two German lads what a coup for a league one club and the two lads are loving it. Dan Neil and Embleton have been fantastic and Elliot’s commitment and attitude has been excellent – the lad was in tears after been sent off. At last, players who want to play for the club! I believe the club has a bright future a head and will prosper depending on how far and Kyril wants to take us.

Ed’s Note [Martin]: Thanks for the email Mark. It’s been great to see how we’ve evolved since the summer, and it’s even more pleasing to see it translate onto the field!

Dear Roker Report,

Some of the sh*t written online about L09 is baffling. My son’s favourite player, a credit to the club. I hope these people don’t hound the lad out like they did George H.

Tom in Sherburn Village

Ed’s Note [Martin]: I completely agree, Tom. It’s pathetic. Last weekend it even started before the game with some ‘fans’ moaning about him being captain. And then with his first mis-placed pass it exploded. A debate over whether he should be first choice in midfield when Evans is fit is reasonable to have – criticising him relentlessly and holding him to higher standards than any other player is held to simply isn’t on. He’s a SAFC player, displays all the positive attributes that we could wish for (and have wished for) from our players... I just don’t get it one little bit. Pathetic.

Dear Roker Report,

Jack Rodwell apparently to sign for Sydney club, does anyone think he deserves a 5th chance?? Whoever is in charge of scouting needs to watch STID series 1. Maybe they should check out Will Grigg as an alternative.

Anthony Roe

Ed’s Note [Martin]: Madness, isn’t it? He’s a loser, isn’t bothered about playing football at all really. He’s got family near Sydney (I think his mother lives there) so it makes some sort of sense. Still, rather them than us!
