Lee Johnson may be about to make his first move into the transfer market as Sunderland boss with a move for Forest Green Rovers captain Carl Winchester.
Gloucestershire Live report that Johnson is keen to add the 27-year-old to his central midfield options during the current transfer window.
Should the move happen, it will be the second time Johnson and Winchester have worked together after the Sunderland boss was in charge during Winchester's time at Oldham Athletic.
Winchester also played under Lee's father Gary while he was on the books of Cheltenham Town.
The midfielder has been a regular since signing for Forest Green from Cheltenham but was only named on the bench for the game against Oldham earlier today, which was abandoned due to fog.
