The State of Play
All Riches team members start on £200 this week. Good news is all bets came in on time, so nobody in the RR team suffers an early yellow card accompanied by a £20 fine.

Banker’s Bonus...
If SAFC bounce back from the disappointing show against Bristol by Burge and the defence keeping a clean sheet, an extra fiver bet will be allocated to all next time out.
There’s an incentive for you Lee. Don’t let the Riches lads down eh?
This Week’s Picks!
Riches Readers are going with...
Cheers to Lads fan Jonathan Ward (@JonnyW33) for this week’s bets on behalf of the Roker Report readers! He’s given us two fiver bets. First up, £5 on Oxford v Sunderland to finish one-all, and secondly, a fiver on a treble - Brentford, Norwich and Charlton all to win.
1st Bet: Fiver @ 11/2.
2nd Bet: Fiver returns £29.30.
Paul Fletcher is going with...
After finishing rock bottom last season, the only way is up. I went big and I went home, BANKRUPT - so this year I’m changing my tactics slightly. While I’m still going to be bold with my Sunderland bet, I’m planning to be more cautious with my other bet.
Jordan Willis to score any time: Last time we visited the Kassam Stadium, Willis notched the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win. I’m expecting more goals this time around but the odds for Willis to get one of them are more than tempting. £5 returns £75.
BTTS Treble: It’s difficult to pick out any obvious results looking at this week’s games, so I’m not going to even try. Instead, I’m predicting that there won’t be a clean sheet in sight in the matches between Boro/Bournemouth, Burton/Accrington and Morecambe/Cambridge. £5 returns £28.87.
Phil is going with...
Sunderland to keep a Clean Sheet - £5 @ 5/2 returns £17.50 with Skybet.
Last season Sunderland ground out a 1-0 at the eternally half-built Kassam Stadium, and I’m expecting a low scoring game once again. I’ve gone for a bore draw in my predictions, but since I would rather see a 3-0 Sunderland win, and 5/2 seems good value for one of the division’s best defences, I’ll stick a fiver on Lee Burge to keep his first clean sheet this season.
Bournemouth to beat Middlesbrough @ 8/5, Gillingham to beat Wigan @ 8/5, Lille to beat Marseille @ 21/10. £1.25 Trixie (£5 total stake) returns £54.79 with Betway
For my non-Sunderland bet I’ll be looking for a good value trio of clubs. For that reason I glanced straight over the Premiership and went for Bournemouth to beat Middlesbrough in the Championship, and Gillingham to beat Wigan in League One. For my final selection, Lille look great value at better than 2/1 to beat Marseille who have players missing through suspension after a crazy win at PSG last time out.
With odds of 20/1 for the treble, I’ve instead gone for a Trixie (3 doubles and 1 treble) to increase the chances of getting a return on my investment. Vive la France!
Matty is going with...
Sunderland to win and BTTS: Despite our poor start to the League One campaign I am surprisingly optimistic of a Parkiola away masterclass. £10 returns £60.
English Fourfold: I am attempting to start the year sensibly so I want to begin with four teams I am highly confident of winning: Leeds to beat Fulham, Leicester to beat Burnley, Blackburn to beat Wycombe and Portsmouth to beat Rochdale. £10 returns £69.71.
Danny is going with...
Sunderland to draw: it’ll be another poor showing thanks to negative tactics from Phil Parkinson this weekend and I think we’ll come away with a point - a luck point. £5 returns £15.50.
Fourfold: Blackburn to ease past Wycombe, Notts Forest to get three points against Cardiff, Hull to beat Crewe and Leeds United to pick up their first victory of the season against Fulham. £10 returns £126.22.
Malc is going with...
For my non Sunderland bet I’m going for BTTS and wins for all of Everton, Man U and Blackburn. Fiver returns £213.28 on Skybet.
For the lads, I’ve got to back my wider prediction of 2-1 win to the lads. We need to bounce back and make a statement in this first away game of the season. A fiver returns £47.50 again on Skybet.
Hopefully one of these will come in, ideally both!
Good luck riches lads, riches readers and SAFC.
Gary is going with...
SAFC Bet: Sunderland 2-0 @ 12-1 returns £65. Non SAFC Bet: Four team acca - Charlton, Hull, Sunderland and Peterborough all to win. Fiver pays £112.37.
