Dear Roker Report,

Over the past 64 years of my undiminished support of SAFC I cannot recall such an awful time as we are currently enduring.

Inept managers of the past such as Howard Wilkinson I can accept happen from time to time, but such appallingly bad ownership as demonstrated by Short and now Donald cannot be accepted and Donald has to sell asap, no matter how little he can get for the club.

It is no coincidence that it is only since “outsiders” became owners that matters have became disastrous. Bob Murray was criticised by some but oh to have someone of his ilk now!

As for next season if so many “supporters” have/are not renewing season cards, then those of us remaining can, with ease, socially distance, see the games, and vocally support the club.

Ed’s Note [Rich]: Thanks for writing, John. We are at a low-ebb as a club, that’s for sure, and our parlous state is clearly linked to the mismanagement of the club from the top. I’m sure we all want an ownership that is both financially capable of sustaining the club and tied to it by geography and culture. And I’m also sure event those who have not renewed their season cards will be keen to get back to the Stadium of Light to support the team on the pitch as soon as possible. We can only hope that both of these things can happen sooner rather than later.

Dear Roker Report,

Can you help me in finding out how we can purchase our existing seats, as I have always paid in ticket office as they need proof of my disability allowance, as I get a pair of tickets, also need to request to renew my parking bay.

Hazel Burlinson

Ed’s Note [Rich]: That’s a really good question, Hazel, and I’m sure one that many fans will be asking too, so I put it to our friends amongst the co-opted members of the Red & White Army and Jane from the Branch Liaison Committee kindly got back to me.

You’ll be glad to know that this issue was raised at the recent meeting held between the club board and the fan groups. CEO Jim Rodwell confirmed that, in the current situation, people would be taken on trust, that the club has a lot of the information on record already and so renewal for people in your situation shouldn’t be a problem.

It was suggested that you email the ticket office and explain your the situation, and there should be someone available to help guide you through the process. Let us know how you get on.
