De Bock happy at new club after unstable Sunderland spell
Laurens De Bock signed for Zulte Waregem this week and after completing his move spoke to Het Nieuwsblad where he described his difficult spell in English football.
De Bock signed for Leeds United on a four-and-a-half-year deal back in 2018 but only ever played seven times for the Yorkshire club before spending the majority of the time since then out on loan.
One of those spells was a short-lived spell at the Stadium of Light last season but the left back only played 10 games in all competitions before his loan was cancelled so he could move return to Leeds ahead of a loan move to ADO Den Haag.
Speaking about those spells De Bock explains that the less than stable environments at Leeds and Sunderland, as well as playing abroad not suiting him, contributed to that period of his career being difficult:
I am extra motivated to become the best possible Laurens De Bock again. I really wanted to return to Belgium and when Essevee knocked on the door, I didn’t hesitate for a moment.
It was not an easy period. I was often abroad and that didn’t turn out to be my thing. I also ended up at Leeds and Sunderland, where the situation was not always stable at that time.
Anyway, it’s an experience that no one can take away from me. Now it is time to fight back and it must be done at Essevee.
Reggina confirm imminent Lafferty move
Kyle Lafferty will undergo a medical this morning before signing for Serie B outfit Reggina, the Italian club have announced.
The Northern Ireland international has been out of contract since leaving Sunderland in June but is set to sign a two-year deal for Reggina.
The move will mark Lafferty’s second spell in Italy, after a one year spell with Palermo back in the 2013-14 season.
President Luca Gallo and Reggina announce that Kyle Joseph Lafferty will arrive in Reggio Calabria today. The Northern Irish footballer will carry out the usual medical visits tomorrow morning and, after their outcome, will sign the contract that will bind him to Reggina.

Gyan always knew Henderson would be great
Academy product Jordan Henderson was named the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year yesterday after leading Liverpool to their first Premier League title win in 30 years and a former Sunderland team-mate has explained how he always knew that he would become great.
Asamoah Gyan appeared on Max TV in his homeland and spoke to the host about how he told his fellow Ghanian Sulley Muntari to take a look at Henderson because the midfielder was going to be a great player in the future.
The former club record signing explained how even at a young age Henderson inspired his team-mates and always gave his all for his team:
In 2011 I told Sulley, to look at this chap he will be great in the future, you mark it somewhere.
Henderson is one player who never give up, he is very committed and inspires his teammates even at that young age, he plays with passion and give his all for the team in every game, am not surprise seeing what he doing at Liverpool.
