Player Ratings: SAFC Ladies 4-2 Stoke Ladies - how did the Sunderland lasses do today?

Sunderland AFC Ladies won a massively important game today against Stoke Ladies at Eppleton CW - Ant Waterson was there to give his player ratings. How did the lasses do?

SAFC Ladies

Claudia Moan: 5/10

Was at fault for both goals today. Let a speculative effort slip through her hands for the first and should have claimed a cross for the second. Will have better days.

Megan Beer: 7/10

Solid defensive performance and got forward well when given the chance. Ran all game as well.

Grace McCatty: 6/10

Kept things ticking over nicely, and was solid in the tackle.

Charlotte Potts: 7/0

Dealt with the Stoke striker very well and seemed determined to catch their keeper out with a free kick, nearly did.

Louise Griffiths: 8/10

Excellent in defending and attacking. Put in a beauty of a cross for Ramshaw’s goal.

Jessica Brown: 6/10

Ran her socks off all game but the play seemed to miss her out slightly

Mollie Lambert: 7/10

Strong as a bull. Looks a player who will play at a high level. Completely ran the midfield today.

Keira Ramshaw: 7/10

Took her goal very well and along with Lambert dominated Stoke’s midfield. A proper captain’s performance.

Neve Herron: 6/10

Had a great effort well saved in the first half, but her control let her down often today - that said, but never stopped wanting the ball.

Maria Farrugia: 7/10

Excellent ball control skills and very industrious. Passing was slightly off at times but a welcome return to the side.

Bridget Galloway: 10/10

Top marks. Scored three different goals today and the third was cool as you like. Ran the line brilliantly and didn’t give the Stoke defenders a moment of peace. Brilliant afternoon for her.

(SUB) Katie Wright: 6/10

Looked lively when she came on. Her pace scared the tired Stoke defence.

(SUB) Georgia Gibson: 6/10

Her height gave Sunderland a different dimension when she came on.

Faye Mullen: n/a

Replaced Herron for the last few minutes. Didn’t have time to influence the game.
