Fan Letters: “League One refs are inept!” “Give Kimpioka a chance!” “Grigg is another Rodwell!”

In today’s Fan Letters our readers are talking about Kimpioka’s lack of first team opportunities, the state of League One referees, and compare Will Grigg to.... Jack Rodwell. Email us: RokerReport@Yahoo.co.uk!

Dear Roker Report,

The officials in League One are totally inept. They are a shower of SH*T!

Rob Brown

Ed’s Note [Gav]: Yep... I can’t disagree there.

I saw someone make the suggestion that the PGMOL send referees that they’re fast-tracking to take charge of games at the Stadium of Light in a bid to test them in front of a big crowd. I can see the sense in it, but if there’s any bias towards Sunderland in the selection of match officials then it hasn’t really aided us whatsoever. I imagine that if you speak to any fan of a League One club, they’ll tell you that they get crap refs every week - it’s just frustrating when you feel as though your team has been on the rough end of a few decisions.

Dear Roker Report,

The new lad Semenyo ran around like a headless chicken, haven’t we already got our own headless chicken? Kimpy must be as sick as a parrot ,as like the rest of our young uns, no wonder we are losing our heartbeat. It happens time and time again ,but it never seems to click with who evers in charge. Its annoying.

Anthony Lynn

Ed’s Note [Gav]: I guess it’s a case of “who is more likely to improve our squad between now and the end of the season?” and I couldn’t mount a convincing argument for Kimpioka. He’s not really shone when he has played in the first team, and he’s barely impressed for the U23s. I think he’s probably ready for a loan, and since National League sides can still loan players I’d be tempted to let him leave for a few months in order to get some minutes under his belt for a senior side where he’s going to need to prove himself.

Dear Roker Report,

Will Grigg is another Jack Rodwell - take the money and do nowt except pretend he’s okay with his lot

David Lane

Ed’s Note [Gav]: Nah, I think that’s harsh. Rodwell was happy to sit on seventy grand a week when the club was in the Championship and financial free-fall. Grigg’s only crime is coming to Sunderland - it’s not his fault our owner got desperate and threw a fortune at signing him. It hasn’t worked out but I don’t think that’s because he’s taking the club for granted. I’d bet that if we had been willing to sell him to Oxford that he would have gone.
