Roker Riches: The bookies have Sunderland as clear favourites to beat Bristol Rovers today

The bookies can’t see anything but a Sunderland win today, but Bristol Rovers are no mugs and signed some good players in January. Where would your money go?

Danny Roberts

The State of Play

It was another big win for league leader Gav this week, with both of his bets coming in. He correctly predicted Sunderland to win 1-0, and his treble came in. Nice.

This week’s other winner was Rory Fallow, who made a small profit of £28.33.

Everyone else... dossers.

The Table - Week #27

Banker’s Bonus...

If Declan John makes Sunderland’s bench, the banker will furnish each of our beautiful pundits with a £10 BTTS acca bet next week. He’s feeling confident!

This week’s picks!

Gav is going with...

Sunderland to win to nil: I’m not really fancying a big bet today. £5 returns £11.25.

£5 FREE BET - TREBLE: Sheffield United, Cardiff & Burton to win. £5 returns £66.50.

Paul Fletcher is going with...

Luke O’Nien to score the first goal today: O’Nien is thriving in Parkinson’s system and seeing plenty of the ball in advanced positions. Surprisingly, he hasn’t scored since the beginning of November, so he must due a goal, preferably the first one. £5 returns £55.

’Elite’ Sixfold: I’m picking one team from the top six leagues in Europe. Barcelona, Dortmund, Juventus, Marseille Feyenoord and Burnley all to win. (They won’t). £5 returns £54.83.

Banker’s Bonus: Spurs and Newcastle double. It’s a free bet so I’ll happily use it to curse our local rivals. I can honestly see Newcastle winning against a Crystal Palace side who haven’t won since Boxing Day. Throw in a Mourinho masterclass to somehow come away from Stamford Bridge with three points and you’ve got yourself a double that pays just under 20/1. £5 returns £101.20.

Graham Falk is going with...

Sunderland to win 2-0: I’ve been cautious with my bets, but balls to it, we’re gonna win 2-0 and it’s going to be an easy ride. £5 returns £32.50.

Eightfold: Sunderland, Leeds, Sheff. Utd, Ipswich, Salford, Leipzig, Frankfurt and Bayern to win. £5 returns £408.27.

Rory Fallow is going with...

Sunderland to win under 3.5 goals: Even money for this is pretty good, as I’m expecting a comfortable win for the lads but not loads of goals. £20 returns £40.

Burnley to beat Bournemouth & under 2.5 goals: Similarly, I think Dyche’s boys should see this one through but don’t expect a goal fest. £10 returns £42.

FREE BET - Aston Villa to win: Away to Southampton, 4/1 is enough to tempt me to back Grealish & co. £5 returns £25.

Danny Roberts is going with...

Sunderland to win & over 2.5 goals: We can be clinical at home now, and with week break, I’d expect us to be in top form against Bristol. £5 returns £23.75.

Four Fold: I need to start being a bit bolder with my bets to catch up with Gav, who’s starting to take a big lead. I’ve been in this position before, though, and can make another comeback - starting this week. I’m going for home wins for Leeds, MK Dons, Wycombe and Crewe. £20 returns £93.94.

FREE BET: It’s free, so let’s go for a Prem acca. Chelsea to win or draw, Crystal Palace to win or draw, Sheffield United to win, Southampton to win or draw and Wolves to win. £5 returns £24.19.

Matthew Crichton is going with...

Chris Maguire to score anytime: Usually when the lads win our top scorer chips in, the facts he takes penalties and free kicks makes this bet far safer. £10 returns £24.

EFL Treble: Since I am on a losing streak I will take it easy... Palace to beat Newcastle, Coventry to beat Rochdale and Burton to beat Southend! £10 returns £59.67.

FREE BET: Southampton, Oxford and Rotherham to win with both teams to score, why not pick a hard when it is free? £5 returns £390.
