Sunderland scout striker
Sunderland have been on a recruitment drive in the last couple of months as they look to strengthen their development squad.
That recruitment drive has led them to Hebburn FC as they take a look at the club’s 21-year-old striker Cedwyn Scott.
Both Sunderland and Newcastle United had scouts present to watch the former Dundee striker score twice against Newcastle Benfield - both from the spot - in a 5-2 home win.
That continues Scott’s remarkable form this season which has seen him score 15 times in just 12 games, including a double hat-trick against Washington in a cup tie in midweek (the highlights of which can be seen below).

Bryson finds new club
Sunderland’s under-18 coach Paul Bryson left the club last month to take up a position with the i2i International Soccer Academy.
Bryson has been working alongside former Sunderland duo Michael Ingham and Darren Williams on the York-based academy’s coaching staff.
As well as his work with i2i, Bryson has also taken up a role at Northern League Division Two outfit Birtley Town.
His move to Birtley will be a return to the club for Bryson, who captained the club during his playing career.
