Marc McNulty will see his loan spell at the Stadium of Light cancelled today, according to reports this morning.
The Edinburgh Evening News say that Sunderland have agreed to cancel the on-loan Reading forward’s temporary deal so he can link up with former Black Cats boss Jack Ross at Hibernian.
Ross had been chasing McNulty for most of the month but Phil Parkinson was reluctant to end the Scottish international’s loan early without replacements coming in.
The report claims that Parkinson finally relented last night with two forward options set to arrive at Sunderland, likely to be Antoine Semenyo from Bristol City and Fiorentina’s Bobby Duncan.
That will end McNulty’s disappointing spell at Sunderland, he was brought to the club by Ross in the summer but, despite featuring 21 times for the first team, only started seven games in League One.
