Ross on possible interest in Sunderland duo
Sunderland outcast Aiden McGeady attended Hibernian’s 4-2 Scottish Cup win over Dundee United last night, prompting rumours that he may link up once again with Jack Ross.
The former Sunderland manager downplayed those rumours though, saying he never even knew his former player was at the game.
Speaking after his side’s win, Ross said he is prioritising other positions, making a move for the Irish international unlikely:
I didn’t know he was here, he never asked me for a ticket so he must have other contacts!
We’ll try to prioritise other positions but he’s a player who was very productive for me. It was nice of him to come along.
Nice of him to drop me a message, as well!
Ross was also asked about supposed interest in current Sunderland loanee Marc McNulty and the 43-year-old pointedly did not rule out a move for the on-loan Reading forward:
I obviously signed him this season already and he’s not playing regularly, however he’s another club’s player. I wouldn’t comment too much.
I think he’s a good player.

Pantilimon set for Black Cats reunion
Costel Pantilimon is set to quit Nottingham Forest and link up with two former Sunderland team-mates in Cyprus.
The Romanian international goalkeeper is due in Cyprus tomorrow where he will undergo a medical ahead of signing a deal with Omonia Nicosia. The former Sunderland player has already agreed a deal with Omonia according to Cypriot outlet Sport-FM.
Should Pantilimon pass his medical he will become the third former Sunderland player at Omonia, joining Jordi Gomez and Charis Mavrias. Ex-Black Cat David Moberg Karlsson has also been linked with a move to the side that sit second in the First Division.

Velez sign Alvarez
Former Sunderland winger Ricky Alvarez has completed his return to Argentine club Velez Sarsfield, signing an 18-month deal with the club.
Alvarez has returned to the club he started his career with after spells with Inter Milan, Sunderland, Sampdoria and Mexican club Atlas.
The 31-year-old was released by Atlas after an injury plagued second year with the Liga MX side and penned his deal with Gabriel Heinze’s side after passing his medical last week.
