Ethan Robson has joined League Two side Grimsby Town on loan until January.
The midfielder, who was expected to be a part of Sunderland’s first team plans this season, has found himself way down the pecking order after an injury in pre-season coupled with the signing of George Dobson saw his stock fall within Jack Ross’s squad.
Robson, who turns 23 in October, spent time with then-Scottish Premiership club Dundee last season and impressed, and will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow academy graduate Elliot Embleton in succeeding with The Mariners during his stint at Blundell Park.
