Transfer News: Sunderland set to take internationally-capped African striker on trial

Chad international striker Haroun Tchaouna - formerly of Stade Rennais - has claimed he is set to join Sunderland on trial.

Sunderland are set to take an international striker on trial according to reports emanating from Africa. claim Sunderland are interested in Chad international Haroun Tchaouna, who came through the ranks at Stade Rennais but is now a free agent after leaving Italian lower league outfit USD Caravaggio.

The player is currently on trial with Angers, but the 19-year-old has confirmed the interest in him from Sunderland and says he is waiting for the results of his trial with the Ligue 1 side:

The Sunderland club has invited me to come, but I’m waiting for the result of my test with Angers.

Tchaouna made his debut for Chad earlier this month in a World Cup qualification match against Sudan.
