Roker Riches: Sunderland’s 1-1 draw brought us plenty of profit last week; will it happen again?

Last week three of our pundits had money on Sunderland to draw 1-1 with Ipswich. Will anyone dare to put money on the same scoreline to occur again? Check our predictions and tips for this weekend’s round of games!

The State of Play

It was a fairly successful week last time around for our pundits, with three of them making significant games at the early stage of the competition.

Paul Fletcher may be a debutant this year in Roker Riches but he’s laid down a marker early doors with his massive £101.66 profit last time out, taking a fair wedge in after his BTTS fourfold came in. He’s closely followed by Gav, who made fifty quid of profit after he placed a tenner on Sunderland to draw 1-1 with Ipswich. Rory Fallow also had the same bet on and won, so he climbed a little bit closer to his starting total of £100 with a £17.50 profit.

The Table - Week #3

Banker’s Bonus...

Last week’s Banker’s Bonus came in as Sunderland did the UNTHINKABLE and drew 1-1 at Ipswich, meaning that this week each of our pundits have been gifted with a £20 free bet to be used on a Bundesliga fourfold this week. Gerrin!

This week’s bonus: If Chris Maguire scores for Sunderland against Portsmouth, the banker will double whatever each pundit wins on their bets this weekend.

This week’s picks!

Gav is going with...

FREE BUNDESLIGA FOURFOLD BET: Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Werder Bremen all to win in their specific games... £20 returns £96.06.

Sunderland v Pompey - under 1.5 goals: Expecting another boring afternoon of association football at the Stadium of Light this weekend. £10 returns £31.

Fourfold: Brentford, Blackpool, Bradford and Villa all to win. I’m pretty clueless when it comes to accas at this stage of the season, so this is nothing more than a hopeful punt... £10 returns £174.

Paul Fletcher is going with...

Lynden Gooch to score anytime and Sunderland 1 - 1 Portsmouth: Surely it can’t happen three weeks in a row... but if it does. £5 returns £105.

BTTS Fourfold: Millwall vs Sheff Wed, Burton vs Rotherham, Morecambe vs Cheltenham, Boreham Wood vs Sutton. The same bet last weekend came in thanks to a 92nd minute goal so I’m sticking with it. £7.50 returns £84.98.

Banker’s Bonus Bundesliga BTTS Fourfold: Freiburg vs Mainz, Wolfsburg vs Cologne, Borussia M’gladbach vs Schalke, Frankfurt vs Hoffenheim. I can’t claim to be an expert on German football but it’s usually decent for BTTS. £20 returns £120.

Danny Roberts is going with...

Sunderland to draw 1-1: It’s going to happen, isn’t it? The two sides are very close on paper and I haven’t seen anything from us in the league to make me believe we’ll score more than one and it’s inevitable that Pompey will grab a goal. £5 returns £20.

4-fold: Lincoln, Bradford & Solihull Moors to all win their somewhat easy home games, and, despite thinking Arsenal will pick up all three points, Burnley could quite easily be the coupon buster, so i’ll finish my 4-fold off with the Gunners to win or draw against Burnley. £10 returns £53.35.

FREE BUNDESLIGA FOURFOLD BET: I have no idea, so Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg & Dortmund to get off to winning starts, and Werder Bremen to win or draw against Dusseldorf. £20 returns £63.21.

Rory Fallow is going with...

FREE BUNDESLIGA FOURFOLD BET: Borussia Mönchengladbach, RB Leipzig, Wolfsburg & Hoffenheim all to win. No logic to this, just hoping for the best. £20 returns £347.40.

Lynden Gooch to score anytime: I’m finally off the mark after being extremely bold and predicting the lads would draw 1-1 at Portman Road! Let’s hope Lynden Gooch keeps up his good form and finds the net against Pompey. £10 returns £40.

Aston Villa & Sheffield United to win: Villa looked decent despite losing to Spurs on the opening day, so I’ll take them to beat Bournemouth at home. Similarly, Sheffield United will be buoyed by Billy Sharp’s late equaliser when they faced Bournemouth, so they’ll fancy themselves at home to Palace. £10 returns £60.50.

Graham Falk is going with...

FREE BUNDESLIGA FOURFOLD BET: Bayern, Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Bremen to bring in the dough. I’m good at Bundesliga bets so this is a dream so early in the season. £20 returns £95.28.

Sunderland and Portsmouth both to score: I think we have goals in us and Sparky and Wyke will be full of confidence after scoring on Wednesday, but Pompey have a good team and I think will score past us. £10 returns £19.50.

Lincoln, Rangers, Celtic, Arsenal, Bristol City fivefold: A safe bet? No such thing, but I can afford to take a little risk as my free Bundesliga bet this weekend is where I have most of my faith. £10 returns £56.19.

Matty Crichton is going with...

FREE BUNDESLIGA FOURFOLD BET: Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen to win, combined with both teams to score in the fixtures between Freiburg/Mainz and Borussia Monchengladbach/Schalke. £20 returns £84.80.

Sunderland and Portsmouth both to score: Jack Ross’ 1-1 draw specialists generally score goals but we also leak our fair few, even if we are to win I cannot see ourselves keeping a clean sheet against an on-form Pompy side. £5 returns £9.75.

Fourfold: I am going incredibly safe this week after my disastrous start... Arsenal, Everton, Tranmere and Lincoln all to win! £5 returns £24.79.
