Sunderland’s new away strip for the forthcoming season is set to be unveiled soon, with the colour scheme a throwback to some of Sunderland’s nicer away offerings over the years.
The body of the shirt contains two different shades of dark navy blue, with red trim on the neck (which is rounded) and arms, with the club’s sponsor ‘Children With Cancer UK’ adorning the front.
The socks and the shorts are the same colour of blue - it’s a very plain but smart strip, one that is sure to prove popular with supporters.
Sunderland haven’t had a navy blue away shirt since the 2012-13 season, when the team was managed by Martin O’Neill and then Paolo Di Canio, finishing in 17th place in the Premier League.
