Team News: Two changes for Sunderland; League One defenders suddenly begin to feel terrified

The modern third division’s most reputable striker makes his first appearance for the Lads while two solid centre-backs continue to play tug of war over their spot in the starting eleven.

Will Grigg makes his highly anticipated debut back in League One for Sunderland this afternoon as he comes in for the misfiring Charlie Wyke, while Tom Flanagan loses his spot alongside the impressing Jimmy Dunne to Jack Baldwin.

It would seem that Jack Ross has opted to keep the same formation which narrowly bested Wimbledon, making only some minor adjustments to his flavour of the month formation of 4-2-3-1.

Taking all of this into account, here’s how we shape up:

Sunderland: Jon McLaughlin, Reece James, Jack Baldwin, Jimmy Dunne, Adam Matthews, Grant Leadbitter, Max Power, George Honeyman, Lewis Morgan, Aiden McGeady, Will Grigg

Subs: Robbin Ruiter, Tom Flanagan, Dylan McGeouch, Luke O’Nien, Lynden Gooch, Duncan Watmore, Charlie Wyke

Can our new, highly flammable frontman inspire his teammates to get a second goal in the same afternoon? Let’s hope so! Ha’way Sunlin!
