Fan Letters: “This club needs a complete overhaul - maybe even start over from scratch...”

“I’m personally so sick and tired of the bullshit surrounding the club that I will most likely switch off and stop following the club’s fortunes for the season” writes RR reader Azlynn. Got something to say? Email us: RokerReport@Yahoo.co.uk!

Dear Roker Report,

People are going on about how we should have easily beat bottom-of-the-table Bolton. Some even saying that it is pathetic to get beaten by a team that got hammered by Accrington. However, Bolton started the season with a 12 point deduction and for the first four or five games played with youth team players, losing all of these games. Since they managed to acquire some adult players they have won 18 points in 14 (1.3 points per game) games. This compares favourably with our record of 28 points in 20 games (1.4 points per game). On current form Bolton are doing better than us, so it was always going to be a tough game for us.

Ed’s Note [Sean]: Understand where you’re coming from here, Bill. But I have to say for most this is indicative of the state we’re currently in. Bolton have been through the wringer and I have a great deal of respect for them, but their ability to put together a better run of form than us (considering everything they’ve been up against very recently) is utterly damning in my opinion.

Dear Roker Report,

I said not so long ago that it’s ok to hold your hands up and say you got it wrong. That time has gone now. I have absolutely no idea why Parkinson has not been sacked. Is someone refusing to admit they cocked up?

The people of North Yorkshire

Ed’s Note [Sean]: Well I’ll be honest here, North Yorkshire... I’m not sure what planet someone is living on if they believe they haven’t.

Dear Roker Report,

Things are abysmal once again. Been seeing people saying it’s “Simon Grayson bad” but it seems to be beyond that and heading to the level of Chris Coleman/David Moyes bad.

I’m all for starting things fresh with players and management, but we’ve pretty much been doing that once or twice a year for the last 10+ years. It’s not just Parkinson that needs to go, it’s every person with station above him. Including the owners and executive board. I can’t fault the players if they’ve given up. Anyone with half a brain that was in the same position, having to deal with unsettled and incompetent leadership, would simply go through the motions until pouncing on a better job opportunity and getting the hell out.

This club needs a complete overhaul. Maybe even start over from scratch if it has to get to that extreme. Simply put: in its current incarnation with the group of people running it, this club will go nowhere except spiralling downwards into oblivion. Relegation is the least of concerns right now as there’s problems off the pitch that are far bigger and run deeper than most people think.

It’s also at a point where I’m personally so sick and tired of the bullshit surrounding the club that I will most likely switch off and stop following the club’s fortunes for the season and just wait and see if next season will be worth following or not.

Azlynn

Ed’s Note [Sean]: I understand the descent into apathy you’re talking about at the end there, Azlynn. The club is likely going to suffer further damage if this same descent into apathy that seems to have set in with a few of the players themselves continues. The club needs structure and it appears it is sorely lacking in anything resembling that, let alone proper direction at this moment in time. Don’t let the bastards grind you down. Tempting as it is to step back, I think if we all step forward as one and make our feelings known, we’ll stand more chance of affecting the change we so desperately need.
