Fan Letters: “I fear that Phil Parkinson will get Sunderland relegated!”

“I really fear he may get us relegated and personally I wouldn’t trust him with next week’s food shopping kitty let alone a limited transfer fund” writes RR reader Kevin. Got something to say? Email us: RokerReport@Yahoo.co.uk!

Dear Roker Report,

Been season ticket holder for 40+ years but gave it up last season. Reason was very simple. Under Ross we played appalling football. Some of the very worst I have witnessed in 40+ years as season ticket holder.

Whilst we deserved nothing that squad should of romped that league with that squad it is as simple as that.

Then we chose a manager in Parkinson (the Dino) no one wanted. As if we think things couldn’t possibly get worst arrive Parkinson. As a Safc fan I realise things do get worst a lot worst. Astonishingly we play even more negative football.

Donald Duck chose to put Parkinson in against virtually every Safc Fans opinion. Very brave Mr Duck. We were not wrong you were. So if you want anyone to back you in the future you need to get someone in and reunite us all. Many many fans want to come back but not while ya making mental decisions like putting him in charge. More important get ya head out ya arse and lead us from the front. At the minute you seem to be hiding and being gutless.

Your in charge Mr Duck you took us down a path like never before. More likely to be relegated than promoted.

You may well of had good intentions from the beginning but sadly they have gone for good. Hiding behind rocks is making people form an opinion of you as a coward and rightly so.

You can stand up and say sorry I you were wrong in Parkinson. We don’t mind people making wrong decisions but let’s crack on and put them right eh? If you don’t I think we will never recover for years to come.

It’s beyond painful what’s going on. You are killing us all. Please we all beg you. Loose ya stubbornness and get someone in to unite fans and players.

Ed’s Note [Gav]: I agree - he has to act now. He isn’t going to, though.

Dear Roker Report,

Cannot really write anything about the performance which will state anything different from what many others will say, probably more eloquently than I could.

What I will say is that the toxic environment the performances, the management and lack of direction from the board is making standing and accepting what is happening untenable. Fans around me at the match today were arguing over who and what is to blame for the seemingly slow and inexorable death of season and possibly club but it was the look of hopelessness in many faces which really worried me.

Sorry about the rambling but still trying to process what I watched while walking home.

We need action to give hope.

Jeffrey Potts

Ed’s Note [Gav]: There are people who are in favour of protest, and it’s really starting to feel like we’re running out of options and time. I feel helpless and desperate. I just want the best for my team - as we all do. This currently is not acceptable.

Dear Roker Report,

I’ve been going since 67/68 season and PP is the worst manager, and as you can imagine I’ve seen soon crap managers. He’s clueless, team selection, tactics, game management are all inept. I really fear he may get us relegated and personally I wouldn’t trust him with next weeks food shopping kitty let alone a limited transfer fund.

Sadly I’ve made the decision that it’s him or me, I’m not going back until he is sacked.

Sad state of affairs for sure. I also fear administrators being appointed before end of season

Time to go PP and SD who I put a lot of faith in.

Kevin Defty

Ed’s Note [Gav]: This is the worst things have ever been in our clubs history, so you’re very right to be angry. I can’t believe he’s being given a transfer budget to be honest. He needed to go a month ago when we still had a chance to get someone else in. Now, it feels like we’re stuck with this embarrassment of a manager for the foreseeable. We need to make our voices heard, I think.
