Talking Points: Sunderland’s manager is pathetic... are you watching, Stewart Donald?

This isn’t good enough. This manager isn’t good enough. Stewart Donald - are you listening? Act now to save Sunderland’s season.

Our manager is pathetic

How the actual f**k is Phil Parkinson still our manager?

This is beyond ridiculous. He’s so far out of his depth that I can’t actually believe he’s managed to get this far. Obviously, he’s being given a transfer window, but... why?

What on earth has he demonstrated so far to warrant allowing him the opportunity to sign anyone? I’m honestly staggered. He’s taking us closer and closer to the relegation zone with each passing week, and nobody seems to care about it.

I hate being so short-termist in my thinking but this whole Parkinson debacle has blown my mind. Just get rid of him and bring someone with something resembling a personality in.

Are you watching, Stewart Donald?

So what has changed in a year, then? That’s still a cracking attendance, but why the massive drop off? Well - we’ve either sold off or isolated every player with a modicum of talent; we’ve continued to persist with our absolute loser of a manager who last smiled in 1976; we’ve had nothing resembling a plan in the transfer market which has led to us assembling a squad of players who, whilst individually capable at this level, just have not clicked; we’ve had our expectations raised considerably - remember the 100pt target? - whilst seeing nothing on the pitch to warrant such lofty ambitions. We’ve seen zero ambition from those in positions of influence - we have no standards.

Above all else, we’ve been taken for granted.

This club is so big that to be sustainable at this level it relies on the supporters coming through the gates and spending their money at the club, to an extent. Yet, we’ve been told time and again that we are the problem, that we are abusive and we are unrealistic. Evidentially, the supporters are not the reason why this club is sat FIFTEENTH in League One - it’s the people on the pitch, in the dugout and in the boardroom.

Stewart Donald - are you listening?

I presume you were there yesterday. Surely you cannot be happy with the way things are going. Surely you heard the supporters and their chanting - they’ve had enough, man.

I urge you: front up, admit your mistakes and do something to address them. By persisting with Parkinson you are risking this club’s future, because for as long as I have a hole in my arse he’s not getting us promoted.

If you can’t make tough decisions then you shouldn’t own this club. Get someone else to run it for you, or sell up. For the good of the club, act now. It isn’t too late.

Hume’s performance a small positive

The only thing I enjoyed when watching yesterday’s incredibly boring performance was Denver Hume’s attacking play. It’s a joy to see him beat his man and whip dangerous crosses into the box, and it’s just a shame that our forwards are hopeless and can’t get on the end of his deliveries.

And that’s it. I’m too f**k*ng depressed to go into detail.
