Roker Riches: Sunderland are heavy favourites in today’s cup game - will they avoid an upset?

Sunderland are heavy favourites with the bookies to beat Gillingham in the FA Cup today. Will they avoid an upset and get themselves back to winning ways?

The State of Play

Ouch - after making steady gains in recent weeks, Graham Falk lost £40 last week. Gav and Danny both lost twenty quid each, and Paul Fletcher lost £12.50.

Rory Fallow won his first bet in ages and put a buffer between himself and bottom-placed Matty Crichton, who won both of his bets yet still wasn’t able to make any real progress.

The Table - Week #13

Banker’s Bonus...

Sunderland might have beat Southend but it wasn’t a sparkling performance, so the Banker was able to breathe a sigh of relief once more. Will he be caught off guard this week?

This week’s bonus: If Luke O’Nien can continue his fine run of scoring goals at home in this weekend’s game, the banker will award all our players a free £10 bet.

This week’s picks!

Gav is going with...

Sunderland to win and over 1.5 goals in the game: I fancy the lads to win this weekend, and by a few goals. The Gillingham fan we interviewed on the site this week reckons we’ll win 3-0, and whilst I’ve got nee idea how bad Gillingham actually are that gives me some confidence that they’re not perhaps going to take this one seriously. £5 returns £10.

Fourfold: Solihull, Forest Green, Burton and Rotherham all to win their cup ties... watch, it’ll be just my luck that they are on the receiving end of a few upsets! £10 returns £83.

Rory Fallow is going with...

Luke O’Nien to score any time: It worked for me last week so I’m going for it again! I know it’s a risk given that Parkinson may rotate the side but given O’Nien’s fitness levels, I’m confident he’ll still be involved.

Sheffield United to win away at Tottenham: This might look silly but The Blades are in better form and are above Spurs in the League. 5/1 is excellent value for Chris Wilder’s men to take all three points. £10 returns £60.

Paul Fletcher is going with...

Sunderland to win 3-0: Let’s stroll into the second round and get back to keeping clean sheets at home. £5 returns £60.

Six-fold: Guiseley, Wealdstone, Cliftonville Coleraine, Cove Rangers & Edinburgh City. £7.50 returns £76.91.

Graham Falk is going with...

Sunderland and Gillingham BTTS: This has replay on a Tuesday night in mid-November written all over it. 1-1 or 2-2 though? I can’t decide how crap we’ll decide to be on Saturday. £5 returns £9.55.

FA Cup Sixfold: Blackpool, Port Vale, Salford, Walsall, Forest Green and Exeter all to win. Few shocks in there and great odds: £5 returns £405.01.

Matty Crichton is going with...

Sunderland to win both halves: We have been brilliant at home in the league so I expect the lads to take that into our FA Cup campaign. £10 returns £25.

British fourfold: Liverpool to beat Man City, Man Utd to beat Brighton, Leeds to beat Blackburn and Rangers to beat Livingston. £10 returns £78.29.
