Roker Riches: The bookies have out-of-form Sunderland as favourites against high-fliers Coventry

Despite Sunderland being in rotten form, the bookies still have us as favourites to beat high-flying Coventry today. Will we meet their expectations and get a much-needed win?

Danny Roberts

The State of Play

What a week for our pundits! Not only did nearly everyone win big bets, but the Banker’s bonus came in and saw all profits DOUBLE. As such, we have a new leader - Graham Falk’s international eightfold came in, so he now sits above Danny Roberts at the top.

Matty Crichton won £120.26, Danny Roberts won £94.80, and Rory Fallow won £85 - unfortunately for Gav and Paul Fletcher, that means they move into the bottom two places in our league table. Things just got a whole lot tastier.

The Table - Week #15

Banker’s Bonus...

Let’s not talk about it too much.

This week’s bonus: If Sunderland win both of their games against Coventry and Burton this week, the Banker has pledged to give all pundits a free £30 bet for next weekend.

This week’s picks!

Gav is going with...

Sunderland & Coventry to be drawing at half time: I’ve honestly stopped caring about betting on Sunderland - it’s a friggin’ nightmare. £3 returns £6.15.

Fourfold: Spurs, Leicester, Brentford and Crewe to win. £12 returns £132.28.

Rory Fallow is going with...

Luke O’Nien to score any time: I’m sticking with this due to our terrible form as it’s a fairly safe bet. Plus, Coventry are bizarrely poor away from home so I fancy us to at least score. £5 returns £42.50.

Leicester to beat Brighton and over 2.5 goals: I won with an over/under last week so I’m keeping the faith with it. Leicester should beat Brighton and I’m praying for a few goals too. £10 returns £32.50.

Danny Roberts is going with...

Coventry to win: I’m really not sure why we’re the favourites in this one. They have the key attributes to hurt us, pace and power, so this game is only going one way. £5 returns £20.

Fourfold: I’m going to for home wins for Arsenal, Everton, Fleetwood and Crewe to hopefully continue my good run. £10 returns £48.82.

Paul Fletcher is going with...

Sunderland to lose 3-0: We’ll start brightly, miss a few early chances, concede due to a defensive clanger, fall apart and be lucky to only lose by three. Please, please, please prove me wrong - I don’t care about the money. £5 returns £205.

Hibernian to win: As tempted as I was to go for a 1-1 draw, that’s not going to happen, is it? In Jack Ross’s first game in charge, 8th placed Hibs will put 4th placed Motherwell to the sword, playing an exciting brand of football and scoring goals at will. I’ll put the rest of my kitty on it. £54.15 returns £121.86.

Graham Falk is going with...

Coventry to win 3-1: I have an awful feeling about this weekend and think we’ll get smashed. £5 returns £170.

Fourfold: Jack Ross’ Hibs, Everton, Fleetwood and Oxford to win. £5 returns £39.79.

Matty Crichton is going with...

Sunderland vs Coventry - Over 2.5 Goals: after the nine goal thriller last season I’m expecting this match to be another goal fest! £10 returns £20.50.

EFL Treble: My recent turnaround in form has been through myself selecting less teams, so have another treble! Stoke, Fleetwood and Crewe to all win. £10 returns £43.10.
