Sky Bet have opened the book on who will become the next permanent Sunderland manager, with Daniel Stendel leading the way as the current front-runner.

The popular German coach only left Championship side Barnsley earlier today, with many in the footballing world lamenting it as a terrible decision after he had not only got the Tykes promoted, but also had his four best players sold before a ball was even kicked in the summer.

Roy Keane is second favourite. The Irishman, who has been without a job in football since he left Nottingham Forest earlier this year, has expressed an interest in returning to management soon, and has spoken in the past about how he felt he had unfinished business at Sunderland.

Currently unemployed names such as Gary Rowett, Chris Hughton, Daniel Stendel and Phil Parkinson are also considered as favourites by the popular bookmakers.

We want to know who you would like to see in charge of the club.
