Sunderland have reportedly made a £2m bid for Doncaster Rovers striker John Marquis and are waiting for the Yorkshire club to reply to the offer.
Marquis was the subject of a bid of around £1.5m from Sunderland yesterday, an offer that was rejected, with Doncaster saying League One’s joint top goalscorer was not for sale.
That does not seem to have put off Jack Ross, as Phil Cadden of the Sun claims an improved bid of £2m has been offered:
Told Sunderland have improved bid for Marquis to £2million. Waiting for answer.

Doncaster manager Grant McCann said in his press conference earlier today that he was focused on earning the club promotion to the Championship, so no-one was for sale but Sunderland will hope their latest offer will tempt their League One rivals to sell.
GM | Our focus is trying to get promotion. No one is for sale.
