According to Dom Howson of the Sheffield Star, Sunderland are looking into the possibility of securing the services of Sheffield Wednesday striker Sam Winnall on loan until the end of the season.
Howson Tweeted:
Understand Sunderland are interested in taking SWFC centre-forward Sam Winnall on loan until the end of the season.
Steve Bruce said at his presser today that the Owls have too many strikers at the moment. Winnall could be on his way out.
Although the 28-year-old has barely featured this season for Wednesday, he has an impressive record at League One level where he has a total of 30 goals in 79 games whilst at Barnsley.
