Sunderland have had several bids turned down for Will Grigg over the course of the transfer window and, according to Alan Nixon, another improved offer has been submitted today.
Details have reached us at Roker Report this morning that the offer submitted to Wigan by Sunderland last night, which was turned down, totaled at around £1.5m - above the initial asking price which was set by the Latics.
It’s our understanding that Wigan then said they want THREE million pounds for the Northern Ireland forward - which is, of course, well in excess of the amount that Sunderland are willing to pay.
The deal is not dead though and Sunderland are willing to continue negotiations, but with time running out they club may reach a point where they switch their attention elsewhere.
