Bryan Oviedo has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club since we were relegated to League One.
Although his performances on the pitch have been fine, the Costa Rican international is one of the club’s highest earners and with Reece James currently being first choice and Denver Hume recently returning to full training after injury, it would be no surprise if the 28-year-old moved on.
He has been linked with the likes of Celtic and West Bromwich Albion but speaking to Colombia 98.7 FM in his home country, Oviedo says he will remain with Sunderland for now and help the club achieve promotion back to the Championship.
For the time being I remain with the team and I want to help them as much as I can for their promotion to the second division.
Here I feel good and my family is comfortable. Only God knows what may happen in the next few days.
Although Oviedo expects to remain with Sunderland, if any club came in for him today with a reasonable offer, you would not expect Jack Ross to stand in his way.
