Costa Rica international Bryan Oviedo is, according to Sky Sports’ Keith Downie, attracting attention from a number of clubs as he looks to engineer himself an exit from Sunderland before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
Oviedo, who was signed two years ago for big money from Everton when we were in the Premier League, is apparently the highest earner at the club and losing him from our wage bill has been something that the club have been keen to do ever since the summer.
The wing-back is - now that Denver Hume is fit again - arguably third choice now in his position, and as such finding him a new club would not only boost club coffers but help to balance out a wage bill which is way over the standard for a club at this level.
