Roker Riches: Sunderland v Luton is the toughest game to call in League One this weekend

They might be managerless but Luton still pose a huge threat to Sunderland this weekend - it’s such a tough one to call, but where does the ‘safe’ money go for this one?

Sunderland AFC

Back to losing again!

Our gamblers didn’t fare too well in the round before this one and they couldn’t bounce back last week. You can’t blame them though, most of our pundits backed a Sunderland win against Charlton so you have to applaud the optimism.

That means no changes to the table. Gav is still way out in front, with Dan & Danny close to each other in second & third. Rory is doing ok in fourth but need some big wins to surge up the table, while Graham is contently bobbing along. The less said about Connor and Chris, the better.

It’s another big game at the top of the table for Sunderland this weekend but will our gamblers go big on a Sunderland win? Let’s find out...

The Table...

The Banker’s Bonus...

If Sunderland beat Luton with Charlie Wyke on the scoresheet, the banker will give each player a free £10 treble on next weekend’s Premier League fixtures.

Our Picks...

Gav - @Gav1879

Sunderland to win: Hopefully the same version of Sunderland turns up tomorrow that did against Barnsley. Big game, big expectations - haway! £10 returns £24.

Fourfold: Burnley, Hull, Doncaster and Mansfield. £10 returns £167.50.

Rory - @RoryFallow

Sunderland & over 3.5 goals: Luton are reeling after losing their manager. We’re gonna muller them. £5 returns £37.50.

Arsenal & Hull to win: Both sides are really good value at evens. Get on it. £10 returns £40.

Danny - @DJRoberts22

Sunderland v Luton - Over 2.5 goals. Irrespective of Nathan Jones leaving the London side this week, the Lads will be certainly in for a good game. Both sides are attacking, so we could see a goal-fest at the SOL on Saturday. £5 returns £10.

Fourfold - Bristol City, Cardiff, Burnley & Grimsby all to win: Banking on all the home sides with winnable games this weekend - and the odds are incredible. £10 returns £189.88.

Connor - @connorbromley

Sunderland to win: Luton just lost their manager and we should be well up for the game since we can go into the promotion places with a victory. £50 returns £120.

Brighton to beat Liverpool: Last week I put this bet on because I am an idiot. This week I will put it on again. Klopp’s side are a bit off the pace at the moment and Liverpool are generally a side that bottles these type of games. £10 returns £95.

Dan Parker - @DGP202

Sunderland to win: It doesn’t get bigger than this game against Luton. I think the Lads will have what it takes to topple a strong Luton side so I’m going fairly big on the win here. £20 returns £49.

Fivefold Acca: Going to back up my bet on the Lads by betting on them again as part of my five team acca - so going for the Lads, Bristol City, Barcelona, Chelsea, and City. £5 returns £55.57.

Chris Sparks - @ChrisSavedLatin

Sunderland to win - I’m not very good at this... £50 returns £113.50.

Fourfold: Chelsea, Bristol City, Villa, Cardiff, Liverpool and Juventus to win - Ha’way the bets. £10 returns £198.

Graham - @AsylumDoors

Sunderland to win - I have been confident all week and that isn’t going to change. £20 returns £48.

Chelsea, Sheffield United and Ross County to win - there’s still no Bundesliga, much to my dismay, so I have to plough on with my usual guaranteed losing bets. £10 returns £39.49.
