TEAM NEWS: Sunderland’s starting lineup is UNCHANGED, but Max Power back on the bench

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it - Jack Ross has fielded the same starting XI which thumped Rochdale 4-1 last week, despite Max Power now being available having served his suspension.

Sunderland will field the same team away to Coventry which won at home to Rochdale. The only alterations made to today’s team sheet are those on the bench.

Max Power is the most prominent name among today’s substitutes, nudging Luke O’Nien out of the selection; Alim Ozturk also returns to the reserves at the expense of Reece James.

Taking these minor tweaks into account, here’s how Sunderland shape up:

Sunderland: Jon McLaughlin, Tom Flanagan, Glenn Loovens, Jack Baldwin, Denver Hume, Lee Cattermole, Dylan McGeouch, Lynden Gooch, George Honeyman (c), Chris Maguire, Josh Maja

Subs: Robbin Ruiter, Alim Ozturk, Max Power, Adam Matthews, Bryan Oviedo, Aiden McGeady, Jerome Sinclair

A win for Sunderland today and a loss for Portsmouth would see the Black Cats rise into the automatic promotion spots. Let’s do our bit to ensure that happens - ha’wayyy!
