Waghorn triggers dominoes
Ipswich have sold Sunderland academy product Martyn Waghorn to Derby County for an undisclosed fee which is thought to be around £5m.
Waghorn has signed a three-year deal with the Rams and speaking after the transfer was confirmed, Derby manager Frank Lampard was delighted to sign the 28-year-old:
He has been sought-after all summer and we’ve managed to bring him here, which is fantastic. I think this is a big signing for us.

That signing being completed allowed Ipswich Town to finally push through the double purchase of Shrewsbury Town duo Jon Nolan and Aristote Nsiala.
Both players had been linked with a move to Sunderland earlier in the summer but have now joined up with their former Shrewsbury manager Paul Hurst, who took over at Portman Road at the end of last season.

Then that move allowed Shrewsbury to complete the signing of another player who had been linked with Sunderland this summer in Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty, who signed for the club on a season-long loan deal.

Camp in the Midlands
Birmingham City have taken leave of their senses and signed former Sunderland goalkeeper Lee Camp on a two-year deal.
The Blues did at least get the 33-year-old on a free transfer and speaking after the highway robbery transfer, Camp explained just what he will bring to the club:
I just want to be consistent, play, play well - and be consistent. That’s all I think you need from your goalkeeper.
When called upon hopefully I can produce the goods and don’t cost you too many goals and hopefully at the end of the season I have done more good things than bad things.
But it’s just a consistency thing, you want a Steady Eddie and that’s one thing I have tried to be all through my career.
A few blips along the way but generally I think that’s one thing I can bring to the table - the rest of it will be down to people’s opinion.
Good luck with that.
No Dijon return for Papy
Papy Djilobodji had a successful loan spell at Ligue 1 side Djion last season but not quite successful enough for the French club to re-sign the player this summer.
According to wiwsport, Djilobodji will definitely not be returning to the Stade Gaston Gérard for the 2018-19 season and Sunderland will have to look elsewhere for a buyer.
Both Djilobodji and Didier Ndong have still yet to return to the club after going AWOL and with the transfer window abroad not closing until the end of the month, their situations may not be resolved for a few weeks yet.
