Sunderland will be without Adam Matthews and Bryan Oviedo tonight, presumably due to the number of lumps kicked out of them last Sunday, and filling in for them will be new signing Reece James and cult hero hopeful Don Love.
An injury to Dylan McGeouch kept him out of contention for the inaugural encounters of this campaign, but he’s been named on the bench tonight. Hopefully we’ll get our first chance to see how the highly rated former Hibs man fares in the environment of League One.
Taking these changes into account, this is how our team shapes up:
Sunderland: Jon McLaughlin, Reece James, Don Love, Glenn Loovens, Jack Baldwin, Lee Cattermole, Lynden Gooch, Max Power, George Honeyman (c), Chris Maguire, Josh Maja
Subs: Robbin Ruiter, Alim Ozturk, Dylan McGeouch, Luke O’Nien, Elliot Embleton, Denver Hume, Bali Mumba
Given that the only alteration has been a replacement of the full-backs, it’s highly likely Ross is playing the same 4-4-2 formation we saw against Scunthorpe - let’s just hope it produces the same results down in Kent! Ha’way the lads!
