Sunderland AFC have unveiled their new kits for the coming season, with a move towards a more traditional-looking outfit taken by the club as we approach only our second-ever jaunt into the third tier of English football.
With regards to the home strip, gone are the hideous pinstripes of last season, and in their place are a more traditional, thicker red and white effort - which will surely please those that were so opposed to the kit we used in last season’s Championship relegation campaign.

The neck has a single button collar and striped sleeves, with a distinct lack of black on the shirt. The shorts are black and socks are black with red trim, but we do have a change set that have red shorts and red socks.
Replacing Dafabet as the main club sponsor are British-based betting company BETDAQ, and their logo is in a more subtle black font across the stomach on the front.
The away outfit is black with red trim, again with the BETDAQ logo emblazoned across the front - but in red. The shorts and socks are black, and it’s our first black away kit since the 2005/2006 season.
Regarding when they go on sale, a statement on SAFC.com reads:
The home kit will be on sale exclusively to 2018-19 season card holders on Friday 20 July. Season card holders will be invited to attend a special event to mark the kit launch at the Stadium of Light, further details of which will announced very shortly.
It will then go on general sale to all supporters from Saturday 21 July at all three stores - the Stadium of Light, Debenhams in Sunderland and The Galleries, Washington.
