Wahbi Khazri is expected to leave Sunderland this summer, the 27-year-old is in demand after a stellar season on loan at Rennes in Ligue 1 but as one Tunisian international is set to depart, another may come in to replace him.
According to reports in Tunisia, Sunderland are tracking Espérance midfielder Ghailene Chaalali.
24-year-old Chaalali mainly plays as a central midfielder but can also cover out wide, both at full-back and on the wing.
Chaalali - like Khazri - is in the Tunisian squad for the forthcoming World Cup in Russia, so no deal will be possible until after the tournament but Espérance are reportedly looking for around €1m for the player.
He has been a regular for his club as they won their domestic league for two consecutive seasons.
