Despite July being upon us, we’re still awaiting news of the new Sunderland kits for the forthcoming 2018-19 season but Roker Report understands that the delay is down to a number of factors, one of which is an issue with the previous club sponsor, Dafabet. It’s understood that the Philippines-based company, who started sponsoring Sunderland during our Premier League days, had a clause that allowed them to end the partnership early.
A new sponsor has already been lined up however and we should hear news regarding that deal in the very near future, with rumours suggesting it could be sports exchange company BETDAQ.
Once the new sponsor has been announced, the away kit should be unveiled by the end of this month, with the home kit following later in the summer.
The designs of the kits are currently under wraps but we believe the home shirt should be more popular than last season’s candy stripes effort but as they were chosen by the old regime, they aren’t quite the first choice of the new owners.
