FAN LETTERS: “If the Sunderland players think they are above League One - they can think again!”

With potential targets lured elsewhere and many of the lads in our own ranks wanting out, there’s understandably been some unrest among the fanbase. Got something to say? Email us: RokerReport@yahoo.co.uk - we’ll include your message in a future edition!

Dear Roker Report,

I would just like to say to the players that think they are above playing in League One - THINK AGAIN!

Premier league sh*te, Championship sh*te - this is down to the majority of you overpaid and useless bunch of c*nts! League One is probably where you belong to play.

Take the blame for the sh*t you have produced over the last two seasons. This is why we are where we are.

HANG YOUR HEADS IN SHAME, ESPECIALLY YOU, JACK RODWELL!

Rob Brown

Ed’s Note [Alex]: Well, Rob, you certainly don’t hold anything back! If the bulk of our playing squad think they’re entitled to a higher level of football than the one they’re currently at, then most of them are quite clearly kidding themselves. If it wasn’t for their lack of ability, we wouldn’t be in the third tier.

Dear Roker Report,

Well... great start to the big “transfer week”... Peterborough are a more attractive prospect than Sunderland for “top” Scottish defender Jason Naismith.

We bid £200,000... but appears we weren’t beaten to him as we didn’t want him anyway.

Hmmmm.

Things need to improve soon for the sake of my new found optimism!

Ed’s Note [Alex]: It’s still early doors, Harry! Obviously it’s not ideal missing out on what alleged transfer targets - though it’s worth noting that Stewart Donald has since stated we weren’t interested in Naismith - but that being said. we’ve got a long summer ahead of us.

Jack Ross will have to oversee one hell of an overhaul, and I won’t pretend I don’t get a bit anxious when I see potential new signings pass us by, but once we see a few deals go through (and a few unwanted faces leave) I’m sure we’ll find it easier to relax a bit.
