Era of the pink seats set to end
The seat replacement BBQ has moved a step closer after Stewart Donald placed an order for 31,500 shiny new, red seats.
The Stadium of Light has looked rather shabby for the last few years due to the red seats fading to various shades of pink but, with Donald hoping to bring a bit of pride back into the club, a programme to replace the seats is currently being investigated.
Whether or not it’s in the form of the much discussed fan BBQ is not certain just yet due to a need to sort out the logistics of such an event, but the club does want the fans involved in replacing the seats.

Sunderland miss out on duo
Sunderland have ‘missed out’ on reported transfer targets Jason Naismith and Erhun Otzumer.
Naismith has signed a three-year deal at Peterborough for an undisclosed fee - although Barry Fry confirmed that they had made a £250,000 bid for the right-back.
Stewart Donald responded on Twitter when asked about missing out on the 23-year-old, by saying “We can’t be beaten to a signing of a player we don’t want to sign”.

Meanwhile, Walsall playmaker Otzumer is set to sign for Bolton Wanderers after undergoing a medical at the Macron Stadium yesterday.
Otzumer is out of contract with Walsall at the end of this month and will sign with the Trotters on a free transfer.

Duo linked
Sunderland have been linked with a move for Luton left-back Dan Potts. According to former Sky Sports reporter Peter O’Rourke, we face competition from Championship pair Nottingham Forest and Wigan Athletic for the 24-year-old’s signature.
A regular in Luton’s squad as they were automatically promoted last season, he contributed seven goals and five assists from the full-back position. Potts signed a new one-year deal with the Hatters last season with an option for this season.

We have also been linked with a move for Welsh international David Cotterill. The Birmingham Mail claim Sunderland, Swansea City, Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers are all interested in the free agent.
Cotterill joined Indian Super League side ATK in January on a short term deal but is now available on a free transfer and looking forward to joining a new club.
