TEAM NEWS: Robson, Ejaria and Asoro all handed starts; Mumba earns a spot on the bench

Youngsters take center stage in tonight’s encounter with Fulham as Cattermole, McGeady and McManaman make way for Robson, Ejaria and Asoro - and there’s even a place on the bench for sixteen year old Bali Mumba!

With relegation confirmed, Sunderland have virtually nothing to play for, so it’ll hardly come as a surprise that Chris Coleman would use this opportunity to bring more youngsters into the fray - especially considering we’ll probably have to rely on them next season.

Senior first-teamers Lee Cattermole, Callum McManaman and Aiden McGeady have all made way for this fresh injection of youth as Ethan Robson, Ovie Ejaria and Joel Asoro have resumed the respective roles of their elders.

The most interesting inclusion of the lot, however, is the inclusion of sixteen year old Bali Mumba. The highly rated youngster was only recently promoted to the U23 fold from it’s U18 counterpart - and by the end of tonight he could have well made a full first-team debut!

Here’s how we’ll shape up, given the chop and change:

Sunderland: Jason Steele, Billy Jones, John O’Shea, Lamine Kone, Marc Wilson, Paddy McNair, George Honeyman, Ethan Robson, Joel Asoro, Ovie Ejaria, Ashley Fletcher

Subs: Lee Camp, Kazenga LuaLua, Callum McManaman, Josh Maja, Adam Matthews, Jake Clarke-Salter, Bali Mumba

We’re all fed up with this season by now but - if nothing else - at least we can take some pride in watching the academy lads graft.

Ha’way then!
