Dear Roker Report,
It was interesting watching on from afar at the reaction to my letter the other day about Vito Mannone. Seems that there are actually more people than I thought who agree he was a pretty naff goalkeeper! Who knew..
My gripe today is with Paddy McNair.
Granted he’s been fantastic recently, but are people (and Chris Coleman I might add) for real when they say we should be building around him next season?
The lad is made of biscuits. Very talented and technically better than any midfielder we have yes, but to think he could play more than forty games in a season is pure fantasy.
For me if we receive a decent offer for him and can get his wages off the books I’ll be more than happy as I just do not trust him to stay fit. Sorry, but it’s true and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to get their head out the shed!

Ed’s Note [Gav]: I can’t argue with your point that McNair is injury-prone but I do think many of the niggles he’s picked up recently have been as a direct result of being out so long earlier in the season with his knee issue. After a rest period and full pre-season those are issues that can be ironed out. He’d be the best player in League One if we can keep him and I’d be doing everything we can to hang on to him unless the money coming in is too good to refuse.

Dear Roker Report,
After all the shenanigans of recent seasons and the shite we find ourselves in I would like to share the following poem with you.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
MY TEAM
MY BELOVED TEAM ARE IN FREEFALL
WE ARE LOSING EVERY WEEK
USELESS AT DEFENDING
THE FUTURES LOOKING BLEAK
A MANAGER WHO IS TRYING HIS BEST
AN OWNER WHO’S NEVER THERE
A TEAM THAT’S LOST ALL CONFIDENCE
DO THEY REALLY CARE
SUPPORTERS FILLED WITH APATHY
A GROUND FULL OF EMPTY SEATS
BOOS AT THE END OF EVERY GAME
FOR ANOTHER BAD DEFEAT
OH FOR THE REIDY YEARS
OF SUPER KEV AND QUINN
OF BEATING TEAMS LIKE CHELSEA
WE ALWAYS SEEMED TO WIN
I HOPE AND PRAY FOR A NEW OWNER
WHO COMES IN WITH BAGS OF CASH
AND BUYS US DECENT PLAYERS
WHO ARE ITCHING TO HAVE A BASH
SOMEONE TO TURN THIS CLUB AROUND
INVEST CASH IN THE SIDE
HAVE SUPPORTERS FLOCKING BACK
AND GIVE THEM BACK THEIR PRIDE
