Even not having to bet on Sunderland couldn’t turn our fortunes around! Despite the gamblers not having to worry about their hearts ruling their heads, only two players registered a profit last week. Walshie called Wigan beating West Ham (as did I but I went for both teams to score, so thanks Moyes for continuing to torture me) and Gav had a Wolves & Fulham double come in.
What makes last week’s insipid display even more laughable is that we all had a free £5 treble to use on the FA Cup and none of us managed to capitalise on it. Most of us thought Middlesbrough would beat Brighton but big Tony Pulis’ boys couldn’t do the business and we were left tearing up our betting slips.
Let’s see if a return to betting on Sunderland can get us back on track!
The Banker’s Bonus...
If Sunderland beat Ipswich by more than two goals, the banker will give each player a free £10 bet on next week’s North London derby.
Walshie - @Walshie409
Sunderland to beat Ipswich 1-0: Whenever we do win it’s by 1-0, so here we go. £3 returns £22.50.
Celtic to win by 3 or more: Kilmarnock are getting a firm, hard drilling on Saturday. £5 returns £13.75.
Gav - @Gav1879
Kazenga LuaLua to score the 1st goal, 15/2: Why not? It’s one of the Priceboosts this week and he looked canny when he came on against Birmingham. Haway lad - show us yer backflip. £10 returns £85.
Derby, Wolves & Hearts treble: I was surprised that the odds were so good for all three sides when you consider they’re at home. £10 returns £68.98.
Rory - @RoryFallow
Sunderland to win & BTTS: Even though Ipswich will set up defensively, that doesn’t usually matter against us. Hopefully we can outscore them. £5 returns £25.
Everton to win: I know Everton have been iffy recently but odds of 10/1 are mad considering Arsenal are always capable of being Arsenal. I’m crossing my fingers that Theo Walcott’s return to the Emirates is one of revenge. £5 returns £55.
Tom - @TommyAkki
Sunderland win and BTTS, 9/2: It’s gonna happen, gotta feelin’ in me watta! £10 returns £27.50.
Burnley to win at Manchester City, 11/5: Ha’way Sean Dyche you big, beautiful, gravelly-voiced, ginger bassa! HAWAAAYYYYY! £10 returns £120.
Danny - @DJRoberts22
Sunderland to win: Go on then. Let’s actually bet on the Lads winning a game. £5 returns £12.50.
Aston Villa, Mansfield and Wigan all to win: It won’t come in. I’m terrible at betting and I’m still in amazement that I won this feature last year. Alas, I have to win one week, right? £10 returns £32.97.
Bromley - @connorbromley
Bryan Oviedo to score anytime: Since returning from injury, former Everton full back Bryan Oviedo has turned into our greatest attacking outlet. He scored on Tuesday and I fancy him to score at some point this weekend. £5 returns £35.
Philadelphia to win the Superbowl: It is that time of the year where we all pretend to be American Football fans. In true fashion I have decided to put £5 on the underdog for Sunday’s showcase game. I confess to knowing nothing about the NFL other than Tom Brady being good at throwing things and Donald Trump getting annoyed that people were sitting down for the National Anthem. Anyways - Eagles to win. £5 returns £12.50.
Graham - @AsylumDoors
Sunderland v Ipswich draw: I really feel confident of a Sunderland win but since I missed both Fulham and Hull, I actually haven’t seen us win since Watford back in 2016 and that is playing on my mind. Honestly, that’s about 40 matches or something. I think God is punishing me and I’ll never see us win again so I’ll say a draw. £5 returns £16.
Man Utd, Palace and Bayern to win: Mags stink, Bayern never let me down and I fancy United to win at home. £5 returns £15.17.
Dan Parker - @DGP202
Lua-Lua to score anytime: Don’t ask me why. Just put a fiver on it and either thank me later or abuse me later. £5 returns £15.50.
Ten team acca: Man Utd, Villa, Fulham, Bournemouth, Wigan, Luton, Roma, Juve, Napoli, and Aberdeen. All to win. Boom. £5 returns £226.77.
