Playing Walsall away from home twice in the space of week really was deja vu. Another trip to the Bescott, another draw for the lads, which meant another hit on our gamblers balances.
All bar one of our pundits lost money last week, with Connor and Chris faring the worst as they lost £60 each. Gav did alright though, raking in £80 thanks to his prediction of a draw with over 1.5 goals in the game. That 80 benk puts him into lead!
Our players do have a Banker’s Bonus to contend with this time out, as the mysterious banker offered a free £10 Championship treble on the proviso that Sunderland and walsall played out another draw. Let’s see how the chaps use their free bet and what else they’re going for this week...
The Banker’s Bonus...
If Sunderland beat Accrington Stanley with Aiden McGeady on the scoresheet, the Banker will give each a gambler a free £10 bet on Liverpool v Manchester United.
Gav - @Gav1879
Sunderland to win: At just over evens, I can’t help myself here. £20 returns £45.
Fourfold: Liverpool, Norwich, Luton and Bury. £15 returns £86.
FREE BET: Aston Villa, Leeds & Nottingham Forest. £10 returns £104.55.
Rory - @RoryFallow
Sunderland to win: The odds are too good to not have a punt on this. Like Gav, I’m sticking £20 on it. £20 returns £45.
West Ham to beat Crystal Palace & over 2.5 goals: The Hammers are looking decent now and have scored six in their last two, so I’ll take them to win in a high scoring game. £10 returns £36.
FREE BET: Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday & Derby County. £10 returns £78.90.
Danny - @DJRoberts22
Accrington v Sunderland - Under 2.5 goals: A tight affair at the Crown Ground that will be won in the second half. £5 returns £9.75.
Treble - Cardiff, Arsenal and Colchester all to win: Back to back home wins for Cardiff... can they? Neil Warnock against the inexperienced Premier League manager, Ralph Hasenhuttl just gives me the feeling this game is going only one way. Arsenal will carry on their frankly immense form and Sol Campbell’s Macclesfield to get hammered by promotion-chasing Colchester. £10 returns 58.59.
Free £10 Championship treble: I’m going to back home favourites for this and hopefully boost my kitty. Norwich, Stoke and Leeds all to pick up three points. £10 returns £33.61.
Connor - @connorbromley
Over 2.5 goals and Sunderland to win: My £50 gambles are not paying off at the moment since we have drawn our last couple of games so I am changing my approach. I can see some goals this week and I reckon Sunderland will win 2/3-1/2. £15 returns £52.50.
Bournemouth and Arsenal to win and Burnley/Brighton to draw: Bit of a random one this. Liverpool play Bournemouth away and I reckon they are due a defeat. Arsenal face Huddersfield and are surely a home banker while Burnley and Brighton face each other in what is sure to be a dull draw. £10 returns £209.25.
Championship treble: QPR, Blackburn and Norwich to win. Aye, this one is a bit out there. QPR and Blackburn are underdogs when they travel away to Leeds and Boro respectively, but I reckon they can both take the points. Leeds are riddled with injuries and Tony Mowbray is returning to the Boro - that says two away wins to me. Norwich are decent and should breeze past Bolton. £10 returns £357.95.
Dan Parker - @DGP202
Sunderland to win and Aiden McGeady to score anytime: McGeady is on fire and we should keep our run going in a tricky looking away game. £5 returns £35.
Fourfold: Arsenal, Betis, Rome and Lazio - make it happen, lads. £10 returns £48.
FREE BET: Boro, Norwich & Sheff Wed all to win this weekend. £10 returns £49.59.
Chris - @chrissavedlatin
Sunderland to win: For Christ sake! My bets aren't even that bad, I’m just horrifically unlucky! Meh, this week I’m backing a simple Sunderland win... £50 returns £112.50.
Arsenal, Spurs, Leeds, Boro, Norwich and Notts Forest to win: Six teams need to come in for me to claw my way back to mediocrity. £20 returns £413.44.
FREE BET: The matches involving Sheff Wed, Wigan and Birmingham all to finish in a draw. £10 returns £1201.76.
Graham - @AsylumDoors
Josh Maja to score anytime: That Barnsley goal aside, our Josh has been a little off the boil recently. However, whenever I doubt him he seems to smash home a goal or two and I am confident he’ll return to full form this week. £20 returns £48.
Leverkusen, Hertha Berlin and Dortmund to win: A Bundesliga triple sees me expecting home wins for Leverkusen and Hertha, where top of the table Dortmund should beat Schalke in their derby. £10 returns £95.34.
Free £10 Championship treble: I’m going to play it safe (if there’s such a thing in the Championship) and back Leeds, Norwich and Stoke who should all record home wins. £10 return £37.40.
