The Spice Girls have announced a world tour, with tickets for their UK tour going on sale on Saturday, 10 November at 10.30am, and one of those dates will see the return of concerts to the Stadium of Light.
Stewart Donald confirmed on the Roker Rapport Podcast that the concerts would return, as he told our own Connor Bromley that our podcast presenter would be keen to attend once they were announced.
That prediction has come true, with the unveiling of the Spice Girls dates.
The concert will take place at the Stadium of Light on Thusday, 6 June.

The Spice Girls will initially tour as a foursome, with Victoria Beckham not taking part, but Mel B revealed that she hoped that may change:
It’s just the four of us.
I hope Victoria will join us at some point, it’d be a shame if she didn’t.
The group initially split up in 2000 and reformed in 2007 for a comeback tour, but haven’t performed as a fivesome since the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games.
There are further announcements expected regarding summer concerts at the Stadium of Light, with American singer P!NK rumoured to be set for a return to Sunderland after last performing on Wearside in front of 31,500 fans in 2010.
