TEAM NEWS: TWO changes for Sunderland as Maja & McGeady return to the starting lineup

Jack Ross has made two alterations to the side that dispatched Southend - swapping Josh Maja and Aiden McGeady for Jerome Sinclair and a presumably injured Lee Cattermole.

Jack Ross has evidently decided that Josh Maja’s return to fitness is reason enough for an immediate inclusion in tpday’s starting XI, which comes at the expense of Jerome Sinclair.

No reason hitherto has been given for the sudden absence of Lee Cattermole from both the starters and substitutes so it can be presumed that he is injured; Aiden McGeady’s neat finish against the Shrimpers might just have gone some way toward earning the gaffer’s favour, as the Irishman is the one named on the team sheet in place of the former captain.

Glenn Loovens has also rejoined the red-and-white ranks following his injury, taking up a spot on the bench.

Taking these changes into account, this is how we shape up:

Sunderland: Jon McLaughlin, Adam Matthews, Tom Flanagan, Jack Baldwin, Reece James, George Honeyman (c), Dylan McGeouch, Lynden Gooch, Aiden McGeady, Chris Maguire, Josh Maja

Subs: Robbin Ruiter, Alim Ozturk, Glenn Loovens, Luke O’Nien, Jerome Sinclair, Bali Mumba, Benji Kimpioka

Can the Lads make it six wins on the bounce in all competitions? Lets just wait and see.

Ha’way, Sunlin!
